I did a tiny bit of looking and found ripoffreport.com, but the accuracy of those reports is obviously subject to the same problem (though on a lesser scale), since anybody can file a report. | Nice site - I like the variety of puzzles! In regards to the cash prizes, however, I'm a bit suspicious - not that the site itself looks suspicious, but I have no guarantee except yours that I will receive the rewards you offer. Does anyone know of an independent group that checks the validity of all these online prize programs? | |

No, there is no such group. I tried to start one 20 years ago, but nobody was interested. If a contest does not pay you a prize that you have won, you should file a complaint with the Attorney General of your state. There should be a local office near you. If the prize is substantial, you can hire a lawyer and sue. If the prize is small, you can sue in small claims court without a lawyer. The best guarantee that the prizes will be paid is if the sponsor has been in business for a long time. A sponsor who doesn't pay doesn't last. | |
